Survey Projects
Panvel Survey Project
A comprehensive survey using the IndieCare AI platform was undertaken in the wards of Panvel Municipal Corporation, Maharashtra. The survey focused on mapping and tracking of Free Roaming Dogs across the four administrative regions, which include residential areas, industrial zones, slums, and villages.
The survey routes were carefully planned based on commonly frequented roads and tracks, ensuring thorough coverage of Free Roaming Dog populations.
The specific high-density cat zones—such as fish markets, crematoriums, hospitals, and railway stations—were also surveyed during peak activity hours.
How the Survey Was Conducted
• The field researchers navigated predetermined routes on motorcycles at a steady speed (~20 km/h), conducting surveys on alternate mornings and select evenings when Free Roaming Dogs activity increased due to local feeding.
• The researchers were equipped with the IndieCare AI Mobile App to collect real-time data while ensuring consistency in survey routes and methodology.
• Only Free Roaming Dogs were photographed—pet dogs were excluded from the survey.
The IndieCare AI platform enabled researchers to document essential data, including:
✔ Photographs of each animal
✔ Physical attributes (age, gender, size, color, breed, etc.)
✔ Geolocation data for precise tracking
✔ Behavioral characteristics (e.g., trap-shy or trap-eager behavior)
✔ Individual behavioral patterns for better identification.
Survey Projects
IIT Guwahati Project
We have deployed IndieCare AI Platform for IIT Guwahati to undertake a research project under DBT Wellcome Trust India Alliance to conduct enumeration / survey, maintain the health and other records of free-roaming dogs estimated around 2,000 numbers at Udalguri District, Assam.
The entire research is done through IndieCare AI mobile application and web platform.
